I’m going to put a biweekly reminder in my phone so that I will actually write in my blog every Tuesday, because I actually do enjoy writing. I’m not going to update on the past year. It’s really just too much. lol.
Anyway, life has been wonderful. We are planning on buying a house this year. We want to be in a house in September. We started looking at houses last weekend- not to buy, but just to see different neighborhoods around DC and to know what neighborhoods we will and will not consider. So far, I really like Trinidad, Randle Highlands, Hillcrest and Deanwood. I don’t know which is my favorite- probably whichever is the closest to where I am right now. If you know me well, then you know that I don’t really like change. But I can’t wait to get out of this apartment because I’m over this situation. I want my own space. Ugh.
Husband and kids are great. Al has locs now. They look amazing. Alvin is speaking so much more clearly. We find out in less than 2 weeks if Zoe starts school. I’m nervous. I’ve put a pause on looking for a job. I’ll resume that later on this year. No rush there.
Church life is great. We host a Community Group, which is awesome. The people in it are great. And I hope we’re doing well? Lol. I love our church so much. Honestly, best church we’ve ever been to. I don’t know why I ever wanted to move back to Texas. Texas is cool, but I love our friends here so much and our church and this city. The housing in Texas is cheap and it’s easier to get into a basic school without working for it and I definitely love my friends there, but we’re happier here. We can work for a good school and we can afford to live here. Cheap living and basic schools are not worth our happiness. 31-year-old Quiana was so silly. lol.
I’ll be 33 in a couple of weeks. I’m getting so old, which is really exciting. I used to not think I’d see 30. This year we’re going karaoke. I plan to see a bunch of 90’s song, mixed with some ratchet Chris Brown songs. And of course some Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston ballads. Party central.
Al and I were going to go to Universal Studios for our anniversary this year, but this weekend I was thinking, that’s a considerable amount of money that we could actually throw towards the purchase of our home. So we’re just going to postpone that, maybe for next year or the following. This year our anniversary we’ll be like this:
-Coffee Shop
-Barnes & Noble
-Cracker Barrel
-AMC (all day watching movies we haven’t seen b/c we have a 2 & 4 year old)
-Dinner somewhere or order food
Sounds fun. And way cheaper than flying to Orlando, staying onsite, and buying tickets and Express Passes to Universal Studios.
Well, Zoe just woke up and is screaming, “Mom,” like Will Ferrell in Wedding Crashers. Who does she think she is? Lol. Before I go, let me show you some pictures of my lovely family. They are beautiful. See below. Later gators!
