Saturday night, Alvin and I sent the kids upstairs

Saturday night, Alvin and I sent the kids upstairs so we could watch a movie on our anniversary. Maven came back downstairs, hopped on the recliner, got under the blanket, and decided he was a part of it. lol.

Maven is super attached- follows me around and always wants to be close. Like, I can't even use the bathroom without him waiting at the door. Lol. Sometimes I get a bit annoyed and feel like I don’t have any space (and yes, I practice self-care, and yes, he spends time with other kids- we are okay!! lol).

But whenever I start to feel that way, I think about our oldest two and how they used to be like Maven. And, while they still obviously love and spend time with us, they now also really love talking to/playing videos games with/going outside with their friends. lol. I remember that this time with my youngest is short, and it makes me hug him a little tighter ♥️

Also, he didn’t ruin our anniversary time because we ended up listening to and discussing Not Like Us all night anyway, which you can see Maven thoroughly enjoying on the following slides. Lol.

Long story short... I got baptized as a small chil

Long story short... I got baptized as a small child, but having the heart to follow Jesus didn’t come until I was a bit older. I didn’t understand the importance of being baptized while I was actually following Christ until my mid-twenties, and it’s been a while since then 😬, but yesterday I finally made a public proclamation that my life is dedicated to the Lord and got baptized to symbolize the transformation that God has made in my life.

So a couple of months ago I had an overnight fligh

So a couple of months ago I had an overnight flight & when we walked on they asked us to check our carry-ons because they were out of space. Because it was midnight and I was half-sleep and planned to continue sleeping the whole flight, I handed over my bag without taking anything out. I had just started wearing hearing aids so I didn't even think to consider grabbing them. Anyway, when I got home my hearing aids were gone and I wasn't able to retrieve them 😭

Thankfully, one replacement pair is covered (praise God for good insurance), and I picked up my new pair today. It has been ROUGH going back to not hearing at 100. I avoided a hearing test for so many years because I hated the thought of wearing hearing aids, and now I don't ever want to go without them. Glad to be back on the good side ♥️

Definitely gotta be more careful, because ain't no more replacements and I can't go back!!

Ain't nothin' in this cup. Just thought I'd take a picture with it to tell y'all that I completed my Master of Fine Arts in Media Design at Full Sail University last week and simultaneously completed my Google UX Design Certificate last month.

Overcoming postpartum depression and juggling three kids while pursuing an accelerated Master's degree was tough, but God's strength and kindness and support from loved ones' encouraged me to keep going.

Thank you to my husband, @getlikechip, for affording me the opportunity to stay home and raise our babies for the past ten years; there truly isn't a better job in the world. I am so thankful that you love and provide for us so well, and I love you right back.

Oh, and thanks to my husband and @allisonday.morning for convincing me to drop out of school. (I generally like to end the sentence there, but I guess I will add "for tech, and pursue what I was really passionate about." Lol.). Y'all the real MVPs.

Now, y'all pray for me as I start looking for jobs and preparing to go back to work in Corporate America. It's been a minute. lol.

Friday before Zoe went to bed she asked me and Al

Friday before Zoe went to bed she asked me and Al if she could have a bouncy house at her birthday party- the next day at 2 pm 😭 I told her that she has to ask for those things in advance because we have to plan, and maybe next time. Then 10 minutes later, Al tells me that he found one that we could rent and he wanted to surprise her.

Zoe was so happy, and Al is the best dad ♥️ Also, it worked out great because Zoe invited her whole class to the party. Lol.

When Al and I first married, I had to finish my field practicum for my Master's Degree in Houston and Al had Drill Instructor training in San Diego. We lived apart the first four months of our marriage.

I remember talking with some older women at my job about marriage, living apart, etc. They told me I only missed him because we were newlyweds, but after I had been married for a while, I would be grateful for a break.

Here we are ten years later. I'm low-key still blown that I was given that sour outlook as a newlywed lol but praise God, I still can't relate. Al was out of town all last week for a conference, and I missed him everyday. I love my boo, and I'm so glad he's home 🩶 #mcm #mce #ilovehim

Man, it was so, so good! We had some amazing panelists, great questions, and the dialogue was so relevant for a lot of things that I've been dealing with. So, so glad we went. I don't usually wear pink, but count me in if Issa Rae & America Ferrera are in Barbie 💅🏾 We went to see the new Barbie movie last night and it was so hilarious and sooo good!

Also, if you haven't been to iPic, you gotta check it out. We had a bunch of theatres like this in Texas and DMV is lacking. Ain't nothing like being served real food + drinks while watching movies in a recliner. The simple things. Lol.
